Meet Phil
The Torjusen family has been in Gautier for 100 years. Phil is the son of Charles and Jazie Torjusen. He was one of 5 sons growing up. Phil and his wife Georgette have lived, worked, and raised their family in Gautier. Phil and Georgette have 4 children and 4 grandchildren.
Phil's Professional Life:
- 1984 - 2006 - Phil served as Senior Vice President of NACO. With over 150 employees, NACO was the largest private company in the City of Gautier.
- 2006 - 2012 - Laser Therapy Group (Owner/Operator)
- 2012 - Present - Licensed Realtor with the State of Mississippi. Currently a realtor with Coldwell Banker Smith Homes
- 2017 - 2021 - Served as Mayor of the City of Gautier.
- He has also served on the Gautier Planning Commission and on the Civil Service Commission.
- He has a total of 22 years of service to the City of Gautier.
During his time as Mayor, Phil Torjusen had a list of accomplishments that helped move Gautier forward.
- Worked with County Supervisors to "Raise" Graveline Rd. for flood safety.
- Worked with state and local officials to secure $5,000,000.00 in funding to purchase the Singing River Mall Property. The purchase of this property set the stage for projects such as

2. Gautier Town Commons - Started the first ever Mayors Youth Council in the City of Gautier.
- Was selected as the chairman of the MML (Mississippi Municipal League) Statewide Youth Council
- Redevelopment of Ladneir Road Bacot Park and also added Splash Pads and an Outdoor Pavilion
- Improvements at George Martin City Park

2. Gautier Nature Fitness Trial - Worked with state and local officials to secure funds for Shepard State Park Marsh Walk
- Obtained Federal Funding for Water and Sewer Infrastructure 12 Year Plan which Includes a Nano-Filtration system that helps bring clarity to the water system.
Phil's roots run deep in Gautier, and he loves this city. He would be honored to be given the opportunity to serve as YOUR Mayor again!
